Verb vs SiteGPT
SiteGPT trains a chatbot on your website, documents and connected sources, answers visitors from them, collects leads and hands the conversation to a person when it needs one. Verb is an AI agent inside your signed-in product that does the user's work: it calls your product's own API as that user, and asks before it changes anything. If you want a bot on your website that answers from your content, SiteGPT is the more direct fit. If you want your users to ask your product for something and have it done, that is Verb.
Every claim about SiteGPT below comes from its own home and pricing pages, read on 2026-09-23; both are linked at the bottom. Nothing here should be read as current beyond that date.
The short version
| SiteGPT | Verb | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Answers visitors from your website, docs and files | Does the signed-in user's work in your product |
| Where it runs | Website widget, help centre, Slack, Crisp, Zendesk | Inside your product, embedded with one script tag |
| Whose access it uses | None found as of the research date; it answers from your content | The signed-in user's own, through your product's own API |
| When a person is needed | Hands the conversation to a live agent | Stops for the user to confirm any change, with the real values shown |
| Pricing | From $59/mo (4,000 messages), 7-day trial with a card | Free to build; from $32.50/mo (billed yearly) for a live site |
What SiteGPT is genuinely the better choice for
A bot on your public website that answers from what you have already written. SiteGPT learns from your pages, PDFs, Notion, Google Drive, GitHub and even YouTube, sits on your site or help centre, collects leads, and passes a conversation to a person at the push of a button. It has published prices, a quick setup and a 4.8 rating on G2. If that is the job, it is a sensible buy and Verb is not trying to do it.
Where Verb is different
Verb lives behind your sign-in, inside the product, and works for the person who is signed in. You list what it may do once, in your own repository: each action marked as reading, changing or deleting. Reads run straight away. Anything that changes data stops on a confirmation showing the real values, and the user says yes before it happens. It runs with that user's own permissions, never an admin key, so it can only do what your product would already let that person do, and every action in the log carries their name.
You may want both
They sit in different places. A public website bot answering people who have not signed up yet, and an agent inside the product doing work for people who have, are two assistants for two different moments. Plenty of products end up with one of each.
Pick SiteGPT if
- You want a bot on your public website that answers visitors from your pages and documents.
- Handing a conversation to a person is part of what you need.
- You want per-message pricing and a product with years in production.
Pick Verb if
- Your product has signed-in users, and you want them to ask for something and have it done.
- The assistant has to act with each user's own permissions, and put their name on every change.
- You can accept an early product to get that today.
Common questions
What is the best SiteGPT alternative?
It depends on what you want the assistant to do. If you want another bot trained on your website and documents that answers visitors and hands off to a person, SiteGPT is already good at that and a switch buys you little. If you want an assistant inside your product that does the signed-in user's work, like changing a booking, updating a record or running a report, using your product's own API and that user's own permissions, that is what Verb is built for.
Can SiteGPT take actions inside my app?
Its own pages, as of 2026-09-23, describe training on your website, documents and connected sources, an embeddable widget, lead collection and handing a conversation to a live agent. We found no feature that calls your product's own API as the signed-in user. Verb's actions do exactly that: they run in the user's browser with the credential that user already has, and anything that changes data stops for them to confirm first.
How does SiteGPT pricing compare to Verb?
SiteGPT publishes its prices: $59 a month for Starter (4,000 messages, 1 chatbot), $129 for Growth, $429 for Scale, and custom Enterprise, with lower yearly rates and a 7-day trial that needs a card. Verb is free to build and test, and a live site is from $32.50 a month billed yearly (Starter, 3,000 requests), with actions never counted. The numbers are not really comparable, because they buy different things: SiteGPT prices answered messages from your content, Verb is the part that acts in your product.
Can I use SiteGPT and Verb together?
Yes, they cover different ground. SiteGPT can keep answering questions on your public website from your content, while Verb sits inside the signed-in product and does the work users ask for there. There is no built integration between them today.
Is Verb a customer support chatbot?
No. Verb is an AI agent inside your product that your own users talk to, and it does their work in your app: it reads their real data and makes changes as them, with a confirmation before anything changes and a named person on every action in the log. If what you need is a support bot for your website, SiteGPT is the more direct fit.
