Verb vs Chatbase
Chatbase builds what it calls conversational agents for customer experience: support and sales agents that answer across chat, email, voice, WhatsApp and Slack, trained on your data, connected to actions such as order lookups and plan changes, with a helpdesk where a person can take over. Verb is an AI agent inside your signed-in product that does the user's work there: it calls your product's own API as that user, and asks before it changes anything. If you want one agent talking to customers on every channel with a team behind it, Chatbase is the more direct fit. If you want your users to ask your product for something and have it done, that is Verb.
Every claim about Chatbase below comes from its own home and pricing pages, read on 2026-10-13; both are linked at the bottom. Nothing here should be read as current beyond that date.

What Chatbase is genuinely the better choice for
Talking to customers wherever they write. Chatbase puts one agent on your website, WhatsApp, email, Slack, Meta apps and voice, connects it to actions like looking up an order or an invoice, and gives your team a helpdesk to step into the same conversation. It is no-code to set up, its home page says it is trusted by over 10,000 brands, and it has published prices. If that is the job, it is a sensible buy and Verb is not trying to do it.
Where Verb is different
Verb lives behind your sign-in, inside the product, and works for the person who is signed in. You list what it may do once, in your own repository: each action marked as reading, changing or deleting. Reads run straight away. Anything that changes data stops on a confirmation showing the real values, and the user says yes before it happens. It runs with that user's own permissions, never an admin key, so it can only do what your product would already let that person do, and every action in the log carries their name.
You may want both
They sit in different places. An agent answering customers across your channels, and an agent inside the product doing work for the people already signed in, serve two different moments. Plenty of products will end up with one of each.

Common questions
What is the best Chatbase alternative?
It depends on where the agent should work. Chatbase builds customer experience agents for support and sales that answer across chat, email, voice, WhatsApp and Slack, with a helpdesk where people take over. If that is the job, it is a mature choice. If you want an agent inside your signed-in product that does the user's work there, as that user and with their permissions, that is what Verb is for.
Can Chatbase take actions?
Yes. Its home page names actions such as getting invoices, looking up orders, retrieving products, upgrading a plan and cancelling a subscription, connected to your systems. Its home and pricing pages did not describe, as of the research date on this page, whether those actions run with each signed-in user's own permissions inside your product.
How much does Chatbase cost?
Its pricing page lists Hobby at $40 a month with 700 message credits and one agent, Standard at $150 a month with 4,000 credits, Pro at $500 a month with 15,000 credits, and custom Enterprise pricing, with a 7-day trial and no free plan listed, as of the research date on this page.
Is Verb a customer support tool?
No. Verb is an AI agent inside your product for your signed-in users: they say what they want done and the product does it, through your own API, asking them before anything changes. It does not answer email or run a helpdesk.
