FAQ schema generator

Quick answer

FAQ schema is a block of JSON-LD that marks up the questions and answers already on a page as a schema.org FAQPage, so search engines and AI assistants can read them as pairs. Add your questions below and copy the script tag into the page. The questions and answers must also appear as visible text on that page; marking up text people cannot see breaks Google's guidelines.

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "FAQPage",
  "mainEntity": []
}
</script>

Writing questions that get quoted

Write each question the way a person would type it, and answer it fully in the first sentence. Three to five real questions beat twenty thin ones: assistants and search engines both discount filler.

Frequently asked questions

What is FAQ schema?

Structured data, written as JSON-LD, that tells search engines which text on a page is a question and which is its answer, using schema.org's FAQPage, Question and Answer types.

Does FAQ schema still help SEO?

Google shows FAQ rich results only for a narrow set of well-known government and health sites now. The markup still states your questions and answers plainly for any engine or assistant that reads structured data, which is why it remains worth adding to real FAQ content.

Where do I put the FAQ schema code?

Anywhere in the page's HTML, usually the head. It must describe questions and answers that are visible on that same page.
